About Us

The founders of Photo Patch have all been either impacted by parental incarceration or incarcerated themselves. Antoine Patton, Greg Bryant and Craig Williams are highly empathetic to what youth with an incarcerated parent have to go through; the hardships often insurmountable when children face them alone. Every Volunteer at Photo Patch empowers our youth as we aim to offer a few necessary resources to succeed.

What We Do

Many children of incarcerated parents have not spoken, seen or in anyway communicated with their parents in weeks, months and sometimes years. Every month, we ask children to upload letters and pictures that they would like to send to their parents. Photo Patch prints, packages, and ships the mail on their behalf.

Get a Child Started

An adult caregiver creates an account with Photo Patch and then helps the child upload photos and type an optional letter. The caregiver then hits “Send”, and Photo Patch makes sure everything is printed, packaged and mailed to the incarcerated parent for the child.

Speech at “FREE HER” Conference

Jay Jay Speaks in Tulsa, Oklahoma

13-year-old Jay Jay Patton tells the journey she has been on since she was just 3 years old. He father, Antoine Patton, went to prison for 8 years and whereas most kids suffer from shame, hurt, loneliness and guilt, Jay Jay was wise beyond her years and knew she had to be the strength and motivation for her father. She explains during her speech how the communication her and her father had made them want to provide the same and even more for kids who are dealing with parental incarceration. This is how Photo Patch was born.

Kids Using Hip-Hop to talk about Parental Incarceration

Jay Jay’s first studio song entitled “Photo Patch” is an inspirational journey with a primary focus on the importance of communicating with your parent while they are incarcerated. Over 5 million children know someone (family or friend) in prison. It’s a serious issue, and JAY.N.M. (Jay, Nasia and Mike) are putting some light on it all the while bringing style, swag, drip and sauce with their message.
